terms of service

last updated: 13 july 2026 · applies to the roloboop web app, installable mobile webapp, api and website

the short version

Pay once a year, scan as much as you like (a fair-use AI allowance applies), cancel online whenever, 30-day money-back. Be decent with other people's data. Early access means things may wobble. Nothing here removes your statutory rights as a consumer.

1. who we are, and what this is

These terms are a contract between you and boopcat ltd (company no. 16923037, VAT no. 512291815, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom — "boopcat", "we") for the use of roloboop: our business-card scanning web app (desktop and installable mobile webapp), its developer API, and this website — and, once released, the native iOS and Android apps. By creating an account or using roloboop you accept these terms. If you use roloboop for a business, you confirm you're authorised to accept them for it.

2. the service, and early access

roloboop scans business cards, turns them into editable contact drafts and syncs saved contacts to the CRM you connect (HubSpot today; Salesforce, Zoho and Mailchimp are planned). Early access opened on 13 July 2026 as a web product — the full app on desktop plus an installable mobile webapp with camera scanning; native iOS and Android apps are on the way and will use the same account. Early access means features may change, break or be withdrawn while we polish; we'll communicate significant changes. There are no per-scan limits — usage is covered by an included fair-use AI allowance, and we may apply a temporary daily cap to protect the service.

3. your account

You must be at least 16 and give accurate details. Keep your password safe — you're responsible for activity on your account. Tell manny@boopcat.co straight away if you suspect unauthorised use.

4. subscriptions, billing & renewal

  • roloboop one costs £79 per year in the UK (price includes VAT) or $99 per year in the US (shown before sales tax), billed annually in advance. Annual is the only billing period at launch.
  • Founding-member offer: the first 1,000 accounts get year one at £53 / $67, then 20% off all roloboop plans and products for life. Available only on our site; ends at 1,000 redemptions or 90 days after launch; benefits apply while your subscription remains active.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically each year. At checkout you give separate, express consent to auto-renewal, and we email a reminder 15–45 days before every renewal stating the price, the billing frequency and how to cancel.
  • You can cancel online at any time — the billing portal is linked from your account page and every receipt — or by email; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid term and you keep access until then.
  • After your subscription ends you keep read access, CSV export and delete; creating, editing, scanning and CRM sync pause until you resubscribe. Your data is never held hostage.
  • If we change the price, we'll give at least 60 days' notice, and existing subscribers keep their current price for at least 12 months from any change — it never applies mid-term.
  • Failed payments: we'll retry and email you; if unpaid after 14 days we may suspend the service until settled.

5. cooling off & refunds

If you're a consumer in the UK or EU, you have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of purchase. Because access starts immediately, at checkout you expressly request service to begin within that period and acknowledge the effect on this right.

In practice you're covered well beyond that: everyone gets our 30-day money-back guarantee on first purchase — a full refund, no questions asked (a curious "why?" at most). Email manny@boopcat.co or use the billing portal. Full detail on the refunds & cancellation page.

6. acceptable use

Don't use roloboop to break the law, harvest data of people who haven't given you their card (or an equivalent business reason to hold their details), send spam, probe or overload our systems, resell the service, or reverse-engineer it except where the law allows. We may suspend accounts that put the service or other users at risk — we'll explain why and how to fix it wherever possible.

7. your content & scanned data

Your scans and contacts are yours. You grant us a limited licence to host and process them purely to run the service. For your contacts' personal data, you are the controller and we act as your processor, as described in our privacy policy. You confirm you have a lawful basis for the contact data you put through roloboop, and you'll honour requests from your contacts to correct or delete their details. You can export your data at any time from the dashboard.

8. third-party services

CRM integrations depend on the providers we connect to — HubSpot today; Salesforce, Zoho and Mailchimp as they land — separate companies with their own terms. We're not responsible for their services, and if one of them changes or withdraws an API we may need to adjust or end that integration.

9. intellectual property

roloboop, boopcat, Boop the cat and everything that makes them work belong to boopcat ltd or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use roloboop while subscribed. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the product, with our thanks.

10. availability & changes

We aim for roloboop to be available around the clock but don't promise uninterrupted service, especially during early access. We may update, improve or discontinue features; if we discontinue roloboop entirely we'll give at least 90 days' notice, tools to export your data, and a pro-rata refund of any unused term.

11. disclaimers

Scanning is very good, not psychic — check important details before you rely on them. Except as expressly stated, the service is provided "as is" and we disclaim implied warranties to the extent the law allows. If you're a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights (including, in the UK, rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015).

12. limits on liability

Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that can't lawfully be limited. Otherwise: we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profits, or loss of data caused by events outside our reasonable control; and our total liability in any 12-month period is capped at the amount you paid us in that period.

13. ending the agreement

You can close your account anytime. We can terminate for serious or repeated breach of these terms, with notice and a chance to remedy where reasonable. On closure we delete your data on the schedule in the privacy policy, and clauses that should sensibly survive (IP, liability limits) do.

14. governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and disputes go to the courts of England & Wales — except that consumers keep the protection of mandatory laws, and may bring claims in the courts, of the country where they live (including any US state). Talk to us first: manny@boopcat.co — most things are fixable over email.

15. changes to these terms

We may update these terms as roloboop evolves. For material changes we'll email you at least 30 days ahead; if you don't agree, you can cancel and we'll refund the unused part of your term.
